Personnaliser des Textiles Foncés en Sublimation, c'est possible !

What is sublimation?

La Sublimation est la technique la plus simple et la plus efficace pour le transfert de photos ou d’images de haute qualité sur une large variété de supports. Il s’agit d’une technique d’impression qui requiert des encres bien spécifiques.

A partir d’une imprimante de sublimation, vous pouvez imprimer votre visuel sur un papier de transfert adapté à la sublimation. Ensuite, sous l’effet de la chaleur et de la pression d’une presse à chaud, l’encre se gazéifie et pénètre directement dans la fibre du textile. Ce procédé permet d’obtenir un produit parfaitement doux et homogène au toucher et une définition de haute qualité. Cela signifie que l’image fait ensuite partie intégrante du textile sans aucune surépaisseur. Attention, cette caractéristique n’est pas valable pour la Sublimation Coton.

Le souci avec la Sublimation, c’est que vous ne pouvez travailler que sur des textiles blancs ou très clairs. Pourtant, il existe des alternatives pour réaliser des marquages sur des textiles foncés, en utilisant une simple imprimante de sublimation polyester (encre sublijet) et des papiers spécifiques.

Specialty papers for dye-sublimation

As sublimation enthusiasts know, making markings on black or dark media with classic sublimation paper (Truepix, Sublim'eco...) is impossible... Unless you have the right paper!

Pour réaliser une personnalisation sur textiles foncés il vous faudra un papier spécifique, sous forme de flex imprimable. Grâce à ce procédé vous obtiendrez des couleurs lumineuses et une bonne tenue au lavage (50 lavages). Attention, contrairement à la sublimation polyester, vous aurez une légère surépaisseur car le visuel ne s’intègre pas dans la maille du textile, il s’agit d’un contre collage sur le support textile.

The Liberty Subli from CFP Flex

La force du papier Liberty Subli est sa simplicité d’utilisation, que ce soit en termes de manipulation, de découpe, et de pressage. D’une épaisseur de 120 microns, il vous permettra d’obtenir un résultat fin, doux et élastique avec des couleurs vibrantes et profondes. Très résistant, vous pourrez le laver environ 40 fois à 30°C sans perdre l’éclat des couleurs.

It also has the particularity of being able to be used with an inkjet printer.

Ce flex imprimable est fabriqué en France tout en étant respectueux de l’environnement. Composé de polyuréthane à base aqueuse, il ne rejette pas de solvants dans l’atmosphère, seulement de l’eau. Doté d’une faible empreinte carbone, il est conforme aux normes REACH et Oekotex.

To make creations with Liberty Subli paper:

1. Create your visual or import your photo
2. Using a dye sublimation or inkjet printer, print your visual without activating the mirror mode (the visual must be facing you when pressing). Also print the marks if you want to make a cut with a plotter.
3. Wait 5 minutes after printing and cut out with a plotter or simple scissors. Be careful, the ink dries quickly.
4. Peel your design off the adhesive polyester backing by hand. For pre-spaced shapes (such as lettering), use a transfer tape.
5. Place your material and your visual on the press. The transfer is done quickly and at low temperature: 15 - 20 seconds at 120 - 135°C. In the case of a black polyester t-shirt, 5 seconds of pressing is sufficient.
6. If taping was necessary, cold peel

The Liberty Patch from CFP Flex

D’une épaisseur de 300 microns, le Liberty Patch vous permettra de réaliser des marquages sur des textiles foncés avec un effet tissé. Le résultat sera proche de la broderie et parfait pour réaliser des marquages au format écusson. Il s’agit du papier qui résiste le mieux aux hautes températures de lavage : jusqu’à 95°C pour environ 40 lavages ! Il est donc adapté aux vêtements professionnels ou sportifs comme les tenues ou les sacs de sport.

The Liberty Patch is also made in France and is just as environmentally friendly with its water-based composition and its compliance with REACH, Vegan and Oekotex standards.

How to use Liberty Patch paper:

1. Print in mirror mode on standard sublimation paper (Truepix type)
2. Place the Liberty Patch on a heat press and place your printed visual face down on the Liberty Patch
3. Press at 190°C for 50 seconds (medium pressure)
4. Peel while hot
5. Cut manually with scissors or with a plotter
6. Peel off your visual from the adhesive liner
7. Place the cut Liberty Patch on your textile, printed side facing you, and place a sheet of baking paper on top
8. Press at 190°C for 50 seconds
   

The Liberty Patch is available in packs of 10 or 50 sheets in A4 and A3 format.

The Liberty Patch Satin Effect from CFP Flex

Discover the new freshly released by CFP: the Liberty Patch Satin Effect! Similar to Liberty Patch, this new paper will allow you to create creations with a woven and satin finish. It is compatible with Sublijet dye sublimation inks and has all the advantages of Liberty Patch (environmentally friendly, low carbon footprint, high resistance to washing, etc.).

You can use it on a wide variety of materials: light and dark textiles, cotton, polyester, elastane, nylon, poly-cotton...

How to personalise your media with the Liberty Patch Satin Effect

1. Print in mirror mode on standard sublimation paper (Truepix type)
2. Place the Liberty Patch Satin Effect paper on a heat press and place your printed visual face down on the Liberty Patch Satin Effect
3. Press at 170°C for 80 seconds with low pressure. Wait 60 seconds before peeling
4. Cut manually with scissors or with a plotter
5. Peel off your visual from the adhesive liner
6. Place the Liberty Patch Satin Effect on your textile, printed side facing you, and place a protective sheet over it
7. Press at 150°C for 20 seconds and peel at

Siser EasySubli

The Easy Subli paper is also very easy to use. With a thickness of 220 microns, the colour rendition will be intense to give you a professional result. You will also save precious time during printing as it prints in only 30 seconds.

It can withstand about 50 washes at 30°C but can be washed up to 60°C. Please note that if you wash the backing at a high temperature, its life span will be closer to thirty washes.

This paper has several certifications such as REACH, Oeko-Tex or Standard 100 Class I. You can therefore personalise bodysuits, baby bibs or children's water bottles with complete peace of mind.

For optimum results, you can use Siser Easy'Subli dye sublimation inks. The colours will be more stable and durable.

To use it, nothing could be easier:

1. Print your design on EasySubli paper
2. Cut out your visual with scissors if it is simple or otherwise cut it out with a plotter
3. Remove the liner
4. Place your visual on your textile support, with a protective sheet over it, and press for 15 seconds at 155°C with medium pressure
5. Peel hot (or cold if you have used a transfer tape)
