The whole process is done only in a darkroom.
- Awareness
Mix the sensitizer according to the instructions on the bottle. Place the solution in the emulsion and mix. Allow the emulsion to stand in the dark for at least 4 hours to allow air bubbles to evaporate from the emulsion (jar slightly ajar).
- Tissue/screen preparation
It is very important to have a clean screen before applying the emulsion. Use a degreaser specific to screen printing and the emulsion used.
Application process :
Use a clean emulsion squeegee with smooth edges (no clinging). The application process is carried out in a dark room with a maximum humidity level of 65%.
1- Apply one or two passes on the print side (t-shirt side)
2- Turn the screen over and apply one or two passes on the doctor blade side.
For specific results, additional coats can be applied.
Drying:
Drythe screen in a horizontal position, print side down, in a dust-free and dry environment for 40-60 minutes at 30-35°C.
Follow these instructions to ensure complete drying:
30° to 40° C
30% to 50% relative humidity
Good air circulation
* To achieve the desired humidity levels the use of a dehumidifier is recommended.
Exposure:
Exposure time may depend on the type of lamp, the distance between the screen and the light source, and the thickness of the emulsion layer.
For best results, use a exposure calculator to determine the exact time of exposure. The correct exposure is determined by a number of conditions such as clean positive film, lattice color, emulsion type, emulsion thickness, and type of exposure unit.
For example for a metal halogen lamp power 5 KW, 2 inner layers, 2 outer layers, it takes 50/60 seconds on a 47 wires/cm mesh.
This exposure time is also valid with sunlight.
Revelation:
Gently wet both sides of the screen with water. Wait a moment (30 seconds minimum) to allow the emulsion to soften. Rinse the print side of the screen until the image is completely open. Then rinse both sides and dry.
Recovering the screen:
Cleaning is done by our degreasers ready to use or concentrated.
